Rotozoom Sales Assistant Version 1.9.11

Released Security

  • Your catalogue is no longer sent anywhere until you ask for it. Activating the plugin used to queue a full upload of every published product to the Rotozoom Cloud about five seconds later, before any screen had been opened. Activation now sends nothing at all.
  • New first-run panel on Rotozoom -> Sales Assistant -> Product index: it names the address the data goes to, lists exactly which product fields are sent, states what is never sent (no customer names, e-mail addresses, phone numbers, orders or payment details) and what happens afterwards, and builds the index only after you tick the box and press the button. The moment you agree is recorded with the date and the user who did it.
  • The switch works both ways: "Turn off" on the same screen stops all catalogue traffic - the sync on a product edit, the hourly price and stock sweep, and the rebuild button alike. Your chat keeps working; it simply stops learning about new or changed products.
  • Shops that already have a product index carry on exactly as before - nothing to click and nothing to approve.
  • The refusal is enforced where the data would leave the site, not only on the screen: with syncing off, even a direct call to the indexing endpoint is turned down.
  • Documentation: the "External services" section, the installation steps and a new FAQ entry now describe this behaviour exactly, instead of claiming that indexing only ever happens on an admin action.
  • 22 new interface strings translated into German, Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese.
