Rotozoom Image Optimizer Version 3.2.0
- Optimisation now runs on Rotozoom's servers: AVIF conversion, whitespace trimming, square padding, resizing and every thumbnail size are made there — your hosting only stores the result. Uploads finish at once; the optimised files replace WordPress's thumbnails a few seconds later, with a progress bar in the media window.
- Needs a Rotozoom connection: a PRO licence through Rotozoom Connect, or a free Rotozoom account. Monthly volume: Free 100 images per month per Rotozoom account (shared by all sites of that account), PRO 5,000 images per month per site (thumbnail sizes are not counted). AI background removal is PRO.
- Bundles Rotozoom Connect 1.1.21.
- When Rotozoom's servers are unavailable, new images keep WordPress's own thumbnails, show a "Waiting to optimize" badge in the media window and are finished automatically once the service is back — nothing needs to be uploaded again.
- Transparent backgrounds are kept (new setting "Transparent backgrounds", on by default).
- Saving the settings (and creating or disconnecting the free account) returns to the settings screen — since 3.1.14 a blank page was shown after saving, although the settings were saved.
- SVG uploads are now a setting ("Allow SVG uploads", off for new installs; sites that already used SVG keep it on); every SVG is cleaned of scripts on upload.
- Existing settings, the bulk queue and backups are carried over automatically on update.
Rotozoom Image Optimizer Version 3.1.19
- Security: the network statistics request on the settings page now works only for logged-in administrators (with a security check) and asks the Rotozoom service at most once a minute — visitors can no longer make the site send outgoing requests.

- Cloud AI background removal is far more reliable: the Worker Network coordinator now self-heals (auto-restart, memory limits, health watchdog), so it no longer goes offline unattended.
- Bulk processing no longer silently skips images if a run is interrupted mid-batch — the queue is saved after every image and the rest are retried.
- Fixed a rare data-loss case where a failed background removal could still convert the image (dropping the original); the source is now preserved and the image retried instead.
